How I Lost 40 kg, Fixed My Insulin and Liver — and Why I Wrote a Book About It
0

For nearly 20 years, I struggled with excess weight.
I lost it — and gained it back. I tried again — and failed again.
I tried everything: calorie counting, intermittent fasting, veganism, running, keto, HIIT, cold showers, microdosing — all of it gave short-term results. Until I realized that food wasn’t the main problem — hormones were.
This article is a short summary of what worked for me. In the book An Easy Way to Regain Health and Lose Weight (available in print edition here), I break it all down step by step — with explanations, real examples, and a clear system.
🔹 What changed everything: Insulin and liver fat
🔸 Insulin is a growth hormone. It’s released every time we eat.
🔸 When you eat often or high-carb meals, insulin remains elevated. The body starts to “tune it out” → insulin resistance develops.
At that point:
- fat starts building up in the liver,
- hunger becomes constant,
- weight gain continues even with “healthy” food,
- you feel tired and foggy all the time.
✅ What I actually did
- I stopped eating every 2–3 hours. Switched to 2 meals per day (11:00 AM and 5:30 PM)
- Completely cut out sugar, snacks, and sweeteners
- Did intermittent fasting 16:8 almost daily, and a 24-hour fast once a week
- Ate bitter foods (arugula, chicory, artichoke, greens) to support bile
- Took homemade apple cider vinegar before meals (1 tsp diluted in water)
- Did seasonal antiparasitic protocols (garlic, seeds, herbs)
- Made yogurt with L. Reuteri — I describe this in the book
- Eliminated alcohol and stopped eating late
- Added electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium) — without which many people burn out on keto
🧪 The results
- -40 kg (~88 lbs) in 10 months
- Liver enzymes normalized
- Hunger and cravings disappeared
- Steady energy without coffee
- Deep, restorative sleep
- Weight has stayed off for over 4 years
📘 About the book
I didn’t write this as a doctor, but as someone who went through it and wants to help others avoid 20 years of mistakes.
The book:
- explains insulin, autophagy, liver fat in simple language
- gives real-world examples, meals, and food combinations
- offers practical steps you can adapt to your lifestyle
